Patients have found hair removal to be both comfortable and effective. Most areas are treated comfortably without pretreatment, sensitive areas can be desensitized with “numbing cream” and cold application.
Hair follicles that are treated in their sensitive phase are permanently removed. At any time, only about 60% of hairs are in the active, growing phase when they are sensitive to laser energy. This means that multiple treatment sessions are necessary to catch the majority of the growing hair in the sensitive phase. For the few hair follicles that may go into prolonged dormancy causing late recurrence, “touchup” sessions may be required.
